Posted on May 26, 2010 by philipp

Rouen Huskies – Savigny Lions 1-3, 6-2

In a showdown of the two top-ranked teams in the French Elite League and at the same time a rematch of last year’s finals, Rouen and Savigny settled for a split on Monday. In game one Pierrick Lemestre allowed just one unearned run on six hits and three walks to lead the Lions to a 3-1 win. He struck out just one and produced a whopping 15 flyouts according to the report on Bafinfos.com. They scored all of their runs in the second inning, when Yan Dalzotto (2 RBI) and Christophe Goniot drove in three with their hits.

In the second match the Huskies broke a 2-2 tie in the fourth with a sac fly by David Gauthier. Three more runs in the eighth, highlighted by a Boris Marche two-run single, sealed the 6-2 win. Aaron Hornostaj had a big two-run double for Rouen earlier in the game. Giovanni Ouin pitched six innings for the win. Kyle Nash allowed three runs on three hits and a walk in five innings to take the loss. Paul Mildren made his debut for Savigny in the seventh and the eighth, allowing three runs on two hits and two walks.

Paris UC – Montpellier Barracudas 9-19, 7-8 (10)

The Barracudas swept their twin bill in Paris on Sunday. In game one they scored in eight of the nine frames en route to a 19-9 win. Jordan Pennington went 5-for-6 with two triples, a double, five runs scored and three RBI. Gregory Cros scored four times. Phil Davis drove in three for PUC. In the second match Montpellier had to come back three times until they won the contest 8-7 in ten innings. Stanton Hoover singled in Jonathan Haras who had doubled with two outs in the tenth. Gregory Cros drove in the tying run in the ninth to force extra innings.

Montigny Cougars – Templiers Senart 2-13 (7), 3-5

The Templiers struggles from the beginning of the year are no longer on their minds, as they extended their winning streak to six games with a sweep over Montigny on Sunday. They won game one by a score of 13-2 and improved to 7-5 for the season with a 5-3 victory in the second part of the doubleheader. They are now in fourth place in the standings. The Cougars dropped to 1-9 and remain in seventh.
