Recaps: Rouen, Montpellier extend Winning Streaks

Rouen Huskies – Arvernes Clermont-Ferrand 12-0 (7), 10-0

The HUSKIES solidified first place in the French Elite League with two shutouts over CLERMONT-FERRAND. In game one, Robin Roy allowed just four hits in seven scoreless innings in a 12-0 victory. He struck out 14. The offense scored nine runs alone in the fifth. Michael Mondesir took the loss. In the second game Keino Perez conceded just one hit over seven innings with six strikeouts to lead ROUEN to a 10-0 win. David Gauthier hit a homerun and drove in four on the day. Kenji Hagiwara collected five hits in seven at bats in the doubleheader. Remy Pellet suffered the loss in the second game.

Montigny Cougars – Savigny Lions 6-17, 9-13

SAVIGNY scored 30 runs in two games in a sweep in MONTIGNY. In the first game Sebastien Boyer and Alex Picket combined to go five-for-six with two homeruns, seven runs scored and nine RBI to lead the LIONS to a 17-6 win. Derek Malikian hit a solo homerun for the COUGARS. In the second match Pierrick Lemestre had four hits and missed the cycle by a triple in a 13-9 victory. Romain Martinez Scott drove in four. Jason Holowaty had five hits in six at bats for MONTIGNY.

Montpellier Barracudas – La Guerche Hawks 12-1, 11-9

Thomas Langloys pitched eight strong innings in game one to lead MONTPELLIER to a 12-1 victory over Anthony Piquet and LA GUERCHE. In part two of the twin bill, the BARRACUDAS started with five runs in the first and led 10-1 after five, before the HAWKS rallied and made things interesting until a final score of 11-9 for MONTPELLIER. The ‘CUDAS extended their winning streak to ten games. LA GUERCHE dropped to fourth.

Stade Toulousain – Templiers Senart 2-7, 0-6

The TEMPLIERS won both games of their doubleheader in TOULOUSE and closed the gap towards fourth-ranked LA GUERCHE. Both teams will meet at the first weekend in July, when the Elite League resumes play.
