The Konica Minolta Pioniers scored eleven runs in the sixth en route to a 13-1 win in seven innings over the Almere Magpies on Saturday evening in the Dutch Hoofdklasse. Mervin Gario went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Kevin Dirksen scored three times. Jurjen van Zijl (W) gave up one run on nine hits in five innings. Dennis Burgersdijk (L) conceded four hits, two runs and three bb in four frames. He struck out seven.

A RBI single by Randy Daal in the top of the tenth lifted Mr. Cocker HCAW to a 2-1 win over Sparta/Feyenoord in the afternoon. HCAW had taken a 1-0 lead in the opening frame on a RBI single by Bart Sabel, but Rotterdam came back in the fifth with a RBI single by Ramiro Balentina. Kyle Ward (W) received the win in relief of Kevin Miner. Both hurlers went five strong innings, combining to allow eight hits, an unearned run and four walks. Gregory Gustina (L) went the distance for Sparta/Feyenoord, issuing eleven hits, two runs and three bb in ten innings. He struck out eight.

Leon Boyd (W) and three relievers held ADO scoreless through nine innings to lead DOOR Neptunus to a 5-0 victory. Boyd gave up just three hits and a walk in five innings for the win. Jeffrey Arends went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and a RBI. Martijn Meeuwis drove in two. Boudewijn van Elswijk (L) surrendered eight hits, three runs and two walks in five innings to take the loss.

L&D Amsterdam won a pitcher’s duel 2-0 in Haarlem against Corendon Kinheim on Saturday afternoon. A sac fly by Baas Nooij and a RBI single by Bas de Jong in the seventh and eighth frames decided the outcome. Rob Cordemans (W) pitched seven strong innings, allowing just three hits and a walk. Duko Jansen (L) gave up one run on six hits and a bb in also seven innings.
