Telemarket Rimini won the series against Danesi Nettuno. In the afternoon game on Saturday they defeated the club from the west coast of Italy by a score of 7-4. Jhonny Carvajal’s three-run triple in the bottom of the sixth decided the outcome. The Pirates had tied the game on a RBI groundout by Mario Chiarini in the fifth.
Nettuno had erased a 0-3 deficit with a two-run double by Igor Schiavetti and a pair of sac flies by Vincent Parisi and Francesco Imperiali. Carvajal and Clinton Balgera had driven in three Rimini runs in the first.
Enorbel Marquez-Ramirez (RIM) made his highly anticipated start against the team, which wanted to sign him since last April. He issued five hits, four runs and three walks in 3 2/3 innings. Michael Natale (NET) surrendered seven hits, four runs and six bb in 4 2/3 innings. Chris Di Roma received the win, Joel Hernandez the loss.

In the night cap of the doubleheader on Saturday, Rimini won by a score of 4-1. Sandy Patrone struck out eight batters in six innings, allowing five hits, an unearned run and two walks for the win. Telemarket took a 3-0 lead on RBI singles by Jhonny Carvajal, Mario Chiarini and Danny Gonzalez. Nettuno got on the board with a RBI single by Igor Schiavetti in the top of the seventh. Rimini added an insurance run in the bottom of the frame when Simone Pandolfi scored on a dropped flyball. Carlos Richetti took the loss after 5 2/3 innings, eight hits, three runs and five bb.

Grosseto won a rain-shortened game in Parma on Saturday afternoon by a score of 7-0 in five innings. Chris Cooper picked up the win after allowing just five hits and a walk in five scoreless innings. Kelly Ramos and Andrea Sgnaolin combined to drive in four. Andrea De Santis scored twice. Mihai Burlea was charged with the loss after giving up six hits, five runs and six bb in 4 1/3 innings.

Parma won the night game on Saturday overcoming 14 hits by the Orioles, as they used a six-run rally in the fifth en route to a 10-7 win. Orlando Munoz and Luca Scalera drove in two each. Stefano De Simoni crossed the plate three times for Cariparma. Luca Bischeri went 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI. Roberto Corradini surrendered nine hits, five runs (4 ER) and a walk in five innings to pick up the win. Riccardo De Santis allowed six hits, seven runs (6 ER) and five bb in the loss.
The other three scheduled games were rained out and will be made up on Sunday.
