After starting the 2011 season with three straight losses to Unipol Bologna, defending champion Cariparma Parma picked up its first win of the year on Thursday against Telemarket Rimini. Two early runs in the first got them the lead. Rimini avoided the shutout with a run in the second. Another Parma score in the eighth sealed the 3-1 victory. Davide Dallospedale scored twice. Alex Sambucci and Rodney Medina had two hits and a RBI apiece. Jesus Silva (W) got his first win in Italy thanks to six strong innings, allowing one unearned run on three hits and two walks. Dushan Ruzic (L) issued five hits, two runs and two bb in seven frames.

T&A San Marino improved to 4-0 for the season, defeating Montepaschi Grosseto 5-0. A wild pitch and a two-run homerun by Wuilliuans Vasquez made it 3-0 after the first. A RBI triple by Carlos Duran and a RBI single by Giovanni Pantaleoni added insurance runs. Henry Bonilla (W) gave up two hits and two walks in seven scoreless innings. Jean Granado (L) surrendered five hits, four runs and five bb in six innings.
