Recaps of the embedded weekday games in Extraleague

Three games on Wednesday, and one on Thursday was scheduled in Extraleague. Only two of three Wednesday games were played, as unfortunately rain and storm again hindered the match in Blansko. The game between BLACK HILL and MZLU EXPRESS BRNO was postponed due to bad field conditions in Blansko after a heavy storm.

The game scheduled between AVG DRACI and TECHNIKA BRNO went on as planned. Both teams presented itself by excellent performance on the defensive side. DRACI won the game 4-1, especially thanks to Petrik (DRACI) batting performance (3 Runs, 2 2B). On the other hand, Koci (TECHNIKA) pitched the complete game and showed a solid performance. DRACI had Schneider on the mound and the batters from TECHNIKA didn’t find any receipt to his pitches. Prochazka closed the game for DRACI.

In another Wednesday action ARROWS OSTRAVA opened their renovated field in a game against SKOKANI OLOMOUC. The home team shut out SKOKANI thanks to the brilliant work by starter Bokaj (4 IP) and reliever Gal (5 IP). OLOMOUC nominated all their pitching stars on the mound, but the patient batters of ARROWS brought another win to OSTRAVA.

The only Thursday game was played in front of TV cameras in Prague, where a local rivalry was renewed between KRC ALTRON and TEGOLA TITANS. Both clubs occupied before this game fifth place with a .500 winning percentage. Everybody expected a close game. KRC has some pitchers on the injury list and with the doubleheader at the weekend, their strategy was to save their pitcher’s arms. They started with Gavlas on the mound, then Drabek followed by Jonak. The game was closed by Husek. On the other side the TITANS turned to young prospect Blazek as starter pitcher. Blazek presented itself with a very good performance and held ALTRON 9 1/3 innings to only two runs. The big hit of the game came in the eighth inning when former KRC player Kus hit a solo homerun and tied the score to 2-2. The game ended in the tenth inning, when the TITANS scored the go ahead run on a successful squeeze play. However in the bottom of the frame the TITANS replaced tired pitcher Blazek by gunner Mraz, but two walks, sacrifices and good base running changed the score to 3-3 and another squeeze play, this time for KRC ALTRON, ended the match in favor for the home squad.

On the weekend the Extraleague continue with the following program:
