Bonn Capitals – Paderborn Untouchables 7-8 (12), 2-4

The Untouchables used the split by the Alligators to close the gap towards the leader in the standings, as they won both ends of their twin bill in Bonn on Sunday. In game one Paderborn blew an early 6-0 lead, trailed 6-7 in the ninth, but still managed to win by a score of 8-7 thanks to a solo homerun by Daniel Meier in the twelfth. Cologne Cardinals – Dortmund Wanderers 8-6, 1-8

The Cardinals and the Wanderers settled for a split on Sunday. In game one pinch hitter Markus Stryczek hit a walk-off three-run homerun in the bottom of the ninth to lead Cologne to an 8-6 win. Dortmund led since a RBI double by Trevor Howell in the eighth. In the second game Matt Kemp issued just three hits and three walks through the first eight innings to lead his Wanderers to an 8-1 victory. Kevin Brunet nearly matched him pitch by pitch in the first seven innings, but Dortmund blew things wide open, when he left the mound at the beginning of the eighth, scoring seven runs.

Pulheim Gophers – HSV Stealers 2-5, 3-1

The Stealers and the Gophers also split their doubleheader on Sunday. In game one the HSV took the lead in the seventh on their way to a 5-2 win. Patrick Maat hit a solo homerun and drove in two. In the second match Lee Roberts struck out 13 batters in nine innings to lead Pulheim to a 3-1 win. They scored all three runs against losing pitcher Corey Parsons in the bottom of the third.
