Panagiotis Sikaras (W) struck out nine batters in a complete game to lead the Godo Knights to a surprise 4-1 win in Bologna. He allowed just one run on five hits and three walks, while throwing 82 of his 130 pitches for strikes. De Angelis scored its first run on a fielding error by right fielder Daniele Malengo in the third. They added three more runs on a two-run double by Gary Burnham Jr. in the fifth and a RBI single by Paolo Tanesini in the eighth. UGF only was able to avoid the shutout with a RBI single by Stefano Landuzzi in the fifth. Fabio Betto (L) gave up six hits, three runs (1 ER) and two bb in six innings.
T&A San Marino – Cariparma Parma 3-4, 4-14

Cariparma overcame a 0-2 deficit on Saturday afternoon to win 4-3 in San Marino thanks to four runs in the last three frames. They took the lead on a two-run single by Marco Yepez in the seventh who capped a three-run rally. His RBI single in the ninth became the game-winner, when T&A cut the deficit to a run on a sac fly by Tony Granato in the bottom of the frame. Carlos Duran had put the Titans in front with a two-run single in the fifth. Mihai Burlea (PAR) allowed five hits, two runs and six bb in five innings. Marco Grifantini got the win. Tiago Da Silva (L) gave up six hits, three runs and two walks in 6 1/3 innings.

Parma won the rubber match of the series in the night cap of the doubleheader in dominating fashion. They scored ten of their 14 runs between the fourth and the sixth en route to a 14-3 victory. Orlando Munoz went 5-for-6 with two runs scored and three RBI. Davide Dallospedale (4-6) crossed the plate four times. Juan Camilo (4-6) drove in four. Ulrich Snijders homered and drove in two for T&A. Roberto Corradini (W) allowed seven hits, two runs and two bb in eight innings. Gregory Palanzo (L) surrendered nine hits, seven runs and two walks in four-plus innings.
Telemarket Rimini – Montepaschi Grosseto 4-5 (11), 7-8 (10)

Grosseto used the tie-breaker procedure perfectly in game two of their series against Rimini on Saturday afternoon and prevailed 5-4 thanks to a three-run double by Danny Sandoval (4 RBI) in the top of the eleventh. The Pirates were able to plate two runs in the bottom of the frame, but couldn’t tie the contest. Montepaschi already had erased an early 0-2 deficit and evened the score with a solo homerun by Ivanon Coffie in the sixth. Chris Cooper (GRO) allowed five hits, two runs (1 ER) and four bb in seven innings. Enorbel Marquez-Ramirez (RIM) gave up four hits, two runs and four walks in five-plus innings. Yovany D’Amico (W) received the win. Mauro Schiavoni (L) took the loss.

The Orioles won the series as they won another extra inning affair in the evening. A RBI single by Leonardo Mazzanti in the tenth lifted them to an 8-7 win. Telemarket had erased a three-run deficit in the bottom of the ninth on a RBI double by Lorenzo Avagnina and a two-run single by Mattia Campanini. Danny Sandoval drove in three for Montepaschi. Starting pitchers Riccardo De Santis (GRO) and Sandy Patrone (RIM) allowed four runs each in 5 1/3 innings, respective six innings. Lino Luciani (W) got the win. Mauro Schiavoni (L) took the loss again.
