ADO celebrated its first win of the 2011 season on Sunday, defeating the promoted UVV 5-3. Gyenuar Lopez and Jair Roseburg had three hits apiece. Jareau Martina drove in two. Danny Rombley scored twice for UVV. Jurandy Girigori (W) allowed six hits, three runs and four walks in 7 1/3 innings. Martijn Riphagen (L) took the loss after 5 1/3 innings, seven hits, four runs (3 ER) and three bb.

Another day in the Dutch Hoofdklasse and another game decided by the IBAF Tiebreaker Rule. Sparta/Feyenoord Rotterdam completed the sweep over the Vaessen Pioniers with a 5-4 win on Sunday. Kevin van Nederpelt ended the game with a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the eleventh inning. Both teams had scored twice in the tenth. Lars Hujer (PIO) gave up ten hits and two runs (1 ER) in six innings. Bobby Carrington (SPA) conceded four hits, two runs (1 ER) and three bb in eight frames. Maikel Berghmans (W) received the win, Shane Gnade (L) the loss.

DOOR Neptunus also won game three against Mr. Cocker HCAW. Scoring runs in each of the last six frames, the club from Rotterdam won 10-3 in Bussum. Dwayne Kemp went 3-for-6 with a homerun, a double, three runs scored and three RBI. Jeffrey Arends drove in two. Craig Anderson (W) issued just one run on three hits and three bb in six innings. Kevin Miner (L) surrendered eight hits, five runs and seven walks in six innings.
L&D Amsterdam – Corendon Kinheim 9-1

L&D Amsterdam used an eight-run rally in the second inning en route to an easy 9-1 victory over Corendon Kinheim, solidifying first place in the Dutch Hoofdklasse. Vince Rooi and Bas Nooij combined for four RBI. Sidney de Jong went 3-for-5 with two runs and a RBI. Ben Grover (W) gave up four hits, a run and two walks in 5 1/3 innings. Frank van Heijst closed it out with 3 2/3 innings of scoreless one-hit relief. Nick Veltkamp (L) was charged with eight runs (7 ER) on nine hits in 1 2/3 innings.
