Former Major Leaguer Kris Wilson (W) pitched a no-hitter in the Italian Baseball League on Friday. He led Danesi Nettuno to a 7-0 shutout over the North East Knights. His only blemish on the day was a leadoff walk to Danilo Sanchez in the fifth. Otherwise Wilson was perfect, striking out 17 of the 28 batters he faced. Eleven of them went down swinging. Despite the high strikeout total he threw just 118 pitches, 79 for strikes.

Nettuno took a quick 2-0 lead in the second on a two-run single by Olmo Rosario and widened the gap afterwards. Paolo Ambrosino scored twice. Rosario drove in three overall. Rodney Rodriguez (L) took the loss, issuing nine hits, six runs (5 ER) and two bb in six innings. Wilson’s No-No was the first in the Italian Baseball League since fellow former big leaguer Jim Brower did it for Telemarket Rimini nearly twelve months ago.
