Posted on July 2, 2012 by philipp

North:

HSV Stealers – Dortmund Wanderers 7-11, 8-3

The HSV Stealers and the Dortmund Wanderers split their first of two doubleheaders, which will decide the race for fourth place in the northern division. Dortmund now needs to win both games next Saturday to pass Hamburg in the standings. In game one last Saturday Dortmund prevailed 11-7, handing out 16 hits against Brent Buffa and using a homerun by Elliot Biddle to blow up the score. In the second match Antonio Peraza struck out 17 and surviving an early no-out, bases-loaded situation en route to an 8-3 HSV victory.

Solingen Alligators – Untouchables Paderborn 8-5, 0-2

A split between the Solingen Alligators and the Untouchables Paderborn most likely decided the northern championship. In game one Patrick Kanthak hit a pair of three-run homeruns to lead Solingen to an 8-5 win. Andre Hughes went the distance for his 11th win of the season. In game two Brian Fields pitched a complete game six-hit shutout in a 2-0 win of the Untouchables. He struck out 14. Julius Uelschen scored a run and drove in the other.
