The MARLINS prevailed in a close game, capturing a 2-1 win thanks to a RBI single by Juan Carlos Macias in the top of the tenth. Audie Nunez (W 1-0) retired the side in the bottom of the frame to seal the victory. After starters Leslie Nacar (MPC, 9 IP, 8 H, R, BB, 9 SO) and Juan Javier Samboy (LLA, 7 IP, 1 H, R, 3 BB, 7 SO) combined to allow just three base runners in the first five and a half innings, EL LLANO struck first and took a 1-0 lead in the sixth on a RBI single by Jose Rafael Morales. However the reigning champion answered right away, tying the game through a RBI single by Jose Luis Salazar in the next period. The team from Gijon had a chance to win it in the bottom of the ninth, but Gabriel Camino was thrown out at the plate, trying to score from second on an infield single.
Game two:

The team from Tenerife also won game two in Gijon on Saturday. They scored two runs apiece in the third and fourth frame to decide the outcome in a 5-1 victory. Victor Lopez went four-for-four with a stolen base and two runs scored. Daniel Sanchez drove in two. Javier Peyrote had three hits and a run for EL LLANO. Ivan Granados (W 2-0) picked up his second win of the season with a complete game, allowing one run on eleven hits and three walks, striking out five. Ruben Fente (L 1-1) took the loss, inducing six hits, four runs (2 ER) and five base on balls in seven innings.
San Inazio Bilbao – FC Barcelona 0-1 (11), 0-4

One week after going ten innings in the opener against CB VILADECANS, BARCELONA’s starting pitcher Homer Baez (W 2-0) topped this outing against SAN INAZIO. He allowed just three hits in an eleven-inning complete game shutout, striking out 15. Felix Isasi scored the lone run in the game on a groundout by Juan Manuel Salazar in the second extra inning. Fidel Mane (INA) held the Catalonian offense in check for the first seven innings, giving up five hits and a walk. He was replaced by Willy Javier Guedez (L 0-2), who took the loss.
Game two:

The FC BARCELONA didn’t need to wait eleven innings to put a run on the board in the second game in Bilbao. Jason Friedman drove in Emmanuel Febles in the top of the first for a fast lead. Orlando Diaz added a run in the fourth with a solo homerun over the left field fence. Jehan Machado delivered two insurance runs in the seventh with a two-run single. Additionally game two starter Pedro Belmonte gave up just six hits in another shutout, striking out four. He out-dueled Alberto Magallon (L 0-1), who allowed six hits, two runs and a bb in six innings. Former BARCA pitcher Andoni Ortiz pitched the last three frames for SAN INAZIO.
CB Viladecans – Beisbol Navarra 2-1 (14), 17-2 (5)
Game one:

VILADECANS and NAVARRA were locked into a 14-inning marathon in the opener of their twin bill on the second game day in Spain. Juan Alberto Fernandez decided the outcome with a sac fly after three hours and 37 minutes in the bottom of the 14th frame, driving home Oscar Angulo, who had reached with a leadoff double. Both teams had exchanged runs in the seventh and eighth on RBI singles by Victor Martinez (NAV) and Alex Tenllado (VIL). Delio Martinez (VIL) struck out eleven in ten innings, allowing just two hits, a run and three walks. Juan Jose Lopez (NAV) had nine K’s in 7 2/3 innings, inducing five hits, a run and two bb. Marc Jodar (W 1-0) won the reliever duel versus Diego Armando Perez (L 0-1).
Game two:

The second game wasn’t anywhere as thrilling as the first one. VILADECANS took a commanding 10-0 lead in the third period, thanks to a nine-run rally. They backed it up with another big inning, one frame later, adding seven more runs, winning 17-2 after five innings due to 15-run mercy rule. Oscar Angulo (3-3, 3B, 3 runs), Rafael Llames and Miguel Valdes each drove in three. Alex Tenllado scored three times and had two RBI. Pol Llopis (W 1-1) picked up the easy victory, allowing two unearned runs on five hits and three bb in five innings. Juan Miguel Marte (L 0-1) took the loss, being responsible for eight hits, seven runs and three walks in 2 1/3 innings.

CB Sant Boi – Astros Valencia 3-2, 15-0 (6)
Game one:

The ASTROS already smelled an upset, when they were able to tie the contest at 2-2 in the top of the eighth of game one. They had loaded the bases and pushed the runs across the plate with a RBI groundout by Ricardo Ortigosa and a bases loaded walk by Antonio Santana. But the favored team from SANT BOI answered right away, regaining the lead in the bottom of the frame, when Yaeko Vazquez scored on a throwing error by shortstop Jose Morban. Oscar Alvarez (W 2-0) secured his second win with six strikeouts in a complete game, allowing three hits, two unearned runs and three bb. Elvis Polanco (AST) held his team in the game with six solid innings (6 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 2 SO), before Norman Nelson Cowes (L 0-2) took the loss in relief.
Game two:

CB SANT BOI used a seven-run opening frame en route to a 15-0 pounding in game two. They needed just ten hits to put 15 runs on the board, though the eight walks and six errors by the defense of Valencia also helped. Carlos Fente had three hits, two runs and four RBI in three trips to the plate. Yaeko Vazquez scored three times. Rafael Rivas and Jose Riera each drove in two. Jose Cruz (2-0) dominated from the mound with eleven strikeouts in six scoreless innings. He gave up four hits and two walks. Raul Agueda (L 0-1) was charged with seven unearned runs on two hits and four bb in 1 1/3 innings.
CD Pamplona – Halcones de Vigo 2-0, 13-14
Game one:

The member of the French National Team Patrice Briones (W 1-0) struck out ten in a complete game shutout over VIGO in game one of the doubleheader to lead PAMPLONA to a 2-0 win. He allowed just five hits and two walks. Aingeru Sanz supported him with RBI singles in the second and eighth to seal their first victory. Ronny Malave (L 1-1) matched Briones with ten K’s in innings, but also was responsible for two runs on six hits and two bb to take the loss.
Game two:

The second part of the doubleheader on Sunday was much different. HALCONES prevailed in a wild game 14-13. Alejandro Carrillo drove in the decisive run in the top of the ninth with a double to right field. VIGO blew a 11-0 lead after three innings, with PAMPLONA tying the score in the bottom of the eighth Jose Taveras’ two-run single. Franklin Tavarez went three-for-five with two triples and four RBI. Carlos Manuel Sampayo (both VIG) scored four times. Four batters had three hits for the promoted club. Urtzi Martorell and Alexis Fumero each had three RBI for CD. Both starting pitchers had their problems. Juan Jose Lopez (VIG) allowed eight hits, seven runs (3 ER) and nine walks in 4 2/3 innings, striking out eight. Eneko Del Burgo (PAM) was chased from the mound after 2 1/3 innings, nine hits, eight runs and two bb. Jose Antonio Romero (W 1-0) picked up the win, Ekaitz Ezpeleta (L 0-1) took the loss.
