Posted on June 9, 2012 by philipp

De Angelis Godo Knights – Unipol Bologna 3-2

The De Angelis Godo Knights stunned Unipol Bologna with a 3-2 victory on Friday evening. Three batters into the bottom half of the first inning Danilo Sanchez belted a three-run homerun over the fence in left center field and the Knights held on to the lead throughout the game. Fortitudo only was able to counter with RBI groundouts by Marco Sabbatani and Andrea D’Amico in the second. Jose Pinango and Jose Angel Mejias otherwise kept Bologna’s batters in check. Jesus Matos was charged with the loss.

Cariparma Parma – T&A San Marino 3-6

T&A San Marino continues to rebound following the elimination at the European Cup, winning 6-3 in game two of their series against Cariparma Parma. They had prevailed 1-0 on Thursday. After erasing a 0-3 deficit in the top of the third, the Titans broke the tie on Mattia Reginato’s three-run homerun in the fifth. Parma had scored three times in the opening period, twice on a double by Leonardo Zileri. But they weren’t able to lighten the scoreboard afterward. Chris Cooper got the win with seven solid innings. Adam Clerici received the loss in relief of Mihai Burlea.

Telemarket Rimini – Grosseto Baseball 15-3 (7)

Telemarket Rimini dispatched Grosseto Baseball easily by a score of 15-3 in seven innings. Luis Maza and Juan Pablo Angrisano led the offense with a pair of homeruns and six RBI combined. Joe Persichina went 4-for-5 with two runs and three RBI. Andrea Grilli drove in two of the three Orioles runs. Francisco Cruceta cruised to the win. Michael Smith took the loss.

Danesi Nettuno – Novara United 9-1

Danesi Nettuno crushed Novara United 9-1. Giuseppe Mazzanti reached base five times, collecting three hits and three RBI. William Bergolla scored three times for Nettuno, which blew the game open with a four-run rally in the sixth. Juan Figueroa issued one run on seven hits in five innings for the win. Renny Duarte lost the game, conceding nine hits, five runs (4 ER) and one walk in 3 1/3 innings.
