T&A San Marino – De Angelis Godo Knights 7-5

Max De BiaseThe Godo Knights are the lone team in the Italian Baseball League without a win this season. And when you’re in such a position you also haven’t much luck. Playing in San Marino on Thursday evening De Angelis rallied from a 0-4 deficit with a five-run rally in the top of the ninth, highlighted by a three-run homerun of Mattia Bucchi.

But it was not enough. With one out Giovanni Pantaleoni doubled and scored on a RBI single by Carlos Duran to even the score in the bottom of the inning. Moments later Max De Biase stepped to the plate and drove the first pitch he saw over the fence in left field for a game-ending two-run walk-off homerun to seal a 7-5 win by the Titans. T&A had built up a 4-0 lead through runs between the second and fourth frame.

Henry Bonilla (SMA) allowed just four hits in seven scoreless innings. Keith Ramsey (GOD) issued seven hits, four runs (2 ER) and three bb in five innings. Jose Escalona (W 1-0, BS 1) received the win, even though he blew a four-run lead. Robert Palencia (L 0-2, BS 1) was charged with the loss.
