The FC BARCELONA won its make-up game against BASEBALL NAVARRA on Saturday evening. They scored five runs in the first four innings en route to a 6-2 victory. Jesus Golindano and Jehan Machado each drove in two. Juan Salazar scored twice. Jorge Miqueleiz went three-for-five with a double, a run scored and a RBI. Pedro Belmonte (W 7-0) gave up seven hits and a walk in eight scoreless innings for the win. He struck out five. Juan Miguel Marte (L 2-3) allowed ten hits, five runs (4 ER) and a bb in four innings.

The FC BARCELONA was supposed to play a second rescheduled game on Saturday morning against EL LLANO. But the club from Gijon didn’t travel to Catalonia and the match was ruled as a 9-0 victory for BARCA. They are now three games behind leader TENERIFE MARLINS and two in front of third-ranked CB SANT BOI. The second half of the regular season starts next weekend.

VILADECANS crushed the ASTROS in a make-up game on Sunday, improving to 8-8 in the Division de Honor standings. They are tied with SAN INAZIO BILBAO and HALCONES DE VIGO, which also have .500 records. The ASTROS remain winless in 2009. They also lost each of last year’s 32 league games, but prevailed in the relegation series against the RED SOX SEVILLA.
