In game one on Sunday Halcones de Vigo received another strong performance from Roman Carrasco (W 3-2) on the mound and beat CD Pamplona 4-1. He struck out ten batters in nine innings, allowing just one run on four hits and two walks. Marco Marques sealed the deal with a two-run triple in the seventh. Marcos Castillo (L 1-10) surrendered seven hits, four runs (2 ER) and two bb in eight innings.
CB Sant Boi – El Llano 15-0 (5), 8-0

CB Sant Boi celebrated two shutouts over El Llano as they defended first place in the Spanish Division de Honor. In game one Jose Guanchez (W 5-0) allowed just a leadoff single and two walks in five scoreless innings, to lead CB to a 15-0 win. He struck out ten. Daniel Martinez, Marc Carrillo and William Domero hit homeruns and combined to drive in eight of the 15 runs. Adrian Borges (L 0-2) conceded seven hits, nine runs (3 ER) and two bb in two-plus innings.

Marc Carrillo hit two more homeruns in the second game, leading Sant Boi to an 8-0 win. Xavier Civit also went deep. Pedro Luis Peraza (W 5-0) struck out ten in six scoreless one-hit innings for the win. Carlos Lopez (L 1-2) issued nine hits, eight runs (4 ER) and two walks in six innings.
Astros Valencia – San Inazio Bilbao 8-1, 8-7

The Astros stunned San Inazio with sweep this weekend, closing the gap towards fifth place in the standings to a single game. In game one John Scott Dunn (W 6-5) struck out twelve batters in seven innings, allowing just one unearned run on three hits and three walks to lead Valencia to an 8-1 win. Kevin Malone hit a three-run homerun in the fourth. Sandel Cuevas drove in two. Fidel Torres Mane (L 5-5) gave up seven hits, seven runs and a bb in five innings, striking out eight.

The second game was much more interesting. The Astros won it 8-7 on a walk-off RBI single by Raul Rosell in the bottom of the ninth. One frame earlier Jose Liste had tied the game with a solo homerun. Bilbao led several times in the game, but couldn’t hold on to it. Eric Frank Cowes and Edward Alexander also went deep for Valencia. Tony Granadillo went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs scored and two RBI for San Inazio. Luis Galicia (W 1-0) received the win in relief. Andoni Ortiz (L 2-1) took the loss.
Tenerife Marlins Puerto Cruz – CB Viladecans 12-1 (7), 9-1

The Tenerife Marlins swept their doubleheader against CB Viladecans solidifying third place in the standings. In game one Nguyen Boulet homered and scored three times. Richard Montiel also crossed the plate thrice. Victor Lopez drove in three. Leslie Nacar (W 7-3) gave up just one run on two hits and a walk, striking out ten. Fabian Marquez (L 0-7) still waits for his first win, allowing six hits, nine runs (5 ER) and eight bb in four-plus innings.

Franklin Tavarez, Lesther Galvan (3-4, 3 runs) and Richard Montiel (4 RBI) hit homeruns on Sunday in a 9-1 win over Viladecans. Nguyen Boulet drove in two. Ivan Granados (W 8-2) gave up six hits and a run in six innings. He struck out seven. Pol Llopis (L 4-5) issued 13 hits, seven runs (5 ER) and three bb in 5 1/3 innings.

The FC Barcelona had to fight hard to remain two games behind leader CB Sant Boi, as they needed extra innings to win in both games of their two-game set against Baseball Navarra. On Saturday they scored four runs in the top of the eleventh to prevail 7-3. Albert Diaz got the big hit with a go-ahead bases clearing double. Jesus Golindano scored three times. Delio Miguel Martinez (W 5-0) struck out 16 batters, as he went the distance, issuing three hits, three runs (2 ER) and four walks in eleven innings. Hector Perozo (L 1-1) took the loss in relief of Juan Jose Lopez, who had allowed five hits, three runs (2 ER) and three bb in seven innings.

In game two on Sunday Barcelona came back from a three-run deficit and won the match 6-5 after Emmanuel Febles drove in the winning run with a single in the top of the tenth. Jorge Miqueleiz had tied the contest with a two-run single in the seventh, capping a three-run rally. Luis Villanueva went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI for the home team. Larry Infante and Hector Perozo each scored twice. Oscar Gimenez (W 3-0) picked up the win after pitching 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief. Pedro Pablo Belmonte (FCB) had surrendered nine hits, five runs and four bb in 8 1/3 innings. Juan Miguel Marte (NAV) got the starting nod for Navarra and conceded seven hits, five runs (2 ER) and four walks in 6 1/3 innings. Andres Casado (L 3-3) took the loss.
