The FC Barcelona did their homework before the championship deciding duel against CB Sant Boi next weekend, sweeping their two-game set against CB Viladecans. In game one on Saturday the co-leader celebrated a lopsided 13-1 win in seven innings. Oscar Angulo scored four times, while Miguel Mora drove in four. Delio Miguel Martinez (W 9-2) issued just one hit, a run and two walks in 5 2/3 innings. Oscar Gimenez closed out the one-hitter. Fabian Marquez (L 3-9) surrendered five hits, nine runs and nine bb in 3 2/3 innings.

On Sunday Pedro Pablo Belmonte (W 10-1) allowed just five hits in nine scoreless innings to lead Barcelona to a 3-0 shutout over the record champion in Spanish Baseball. Emmanuel Febles, Orlando Diaz and Miguel Mora drove in the runs in the fifth, sixth and eighth. Marc Jodar (L 2-2) gave up six hits, two runs and four bb in six innings.

San Inazio Bilbao scored five runs in the first three frames en route to a 5-3 win in Navarra in game one of the doubleheader on Sunday. Tony Granadillo hit a solo homerun and scored twice overall. Larry Infante went deep for Navarra. It was his 16th homerun of the season. Edward Adames (W 2-0) conceded five hits, three runs (1 ER) and two bb in nine strong innings. He struck out seven. Juan Jose Lopez (L 10-5) surrendered seven hits, five runs (4 ER) and six walks in seven innings. He also picked up seven Ks.

In game two Navarra used an eight-run seventh to break a 4-4 tie in a 12-4 victory. Hector Perozo homered and drove in two. Victor Martinez not only went 3-for-4 with three runs scored at the plate, but also picked up the win with 3 2/3 scoreless innings of relief. Alberto Magallon (L) issued nine hits and six runs (2 ER) in seven innings. Juan Miguel Marte (NAV) began for the host, issuing three hits and two walks in five scoreless innings. Andres Casado (NAV) blew the 4-0 lead in the top of the sixth.

The Tenerife Marlins dominated El Llano in their doubleheader on Saturday. In game one Franklin Tavarez homered twice and drove in six to lead Puerto Cruz to a 15-0 win in five innings. Leslie Nacar (W 10-5) struck out five in five perfect innings for the win. Juan Garcia (L 0-2) surrendered 14 hits, 15 runs (13 ER) and three bb in 4 1/3 innings.

They completed the sweep with a 24-0 blowout in game two of the twin bill. They already led 19-0 two innings into the contest. Lesther Galvan went 3-for-4 with a homerun, four runs scored and four RBI. Nguyen Boulet, Javier Flores and Daniel Piva each drove in three. Ivan Granados (W 13-2) allowed just two hits in four scoreless innings, striking out nine. Ruben Urbano (L 0-1) was charged with eight hits, 14 runs and seven bb in 1 1/3 innings.

John Scott Dunn (W 9-7) struck out twelve batters in a complete game to lead the Astros Valencia to an 8-2 win in game one of their two-game set against CD Pamplona. He allowed nine hits, two runs and three bb. Kevin Malone and Eric Cowes combined for four RBI at the plate. Marcos Castillo (L 2-16) surrendered nine hits, eight runs (4 ER) and a walk in eight innings. He struck out nine.

The Astros completed the sweep with a 19-17 win in a wild game two. Valencia took a fast 12-1 lead after three frames. They added four more in the eighth after Pamplona had cut the deficit to 10-15, but still nearly blew it, when CD put seven runs on the board in the ninth. Kevin Malone homered twice for the home team. Edward Alexander (AST), Juan Latienda (PAM) and Marcos Castillo (PAM) also went deep in the game. Jonathan Castan (W 1-0) received the win, while Eneko del Burgo (L 0-4) took the loss.

CB Sant Boi also did what they had to do, picking up two wins in Vigo to remain tied with the FC Barcelona at the top of the Division de Honor standings. In game one William Domero and Jose Luis Salazar combined for seven hits and five RBI in a 10-5 victory. Junior Guerra (W 10-1) issued just an unearned run on four hits and a walk in seven strong innings, striking out eight. Roman Carrasco (L 4-8) allowed 15 hits, eight runs and three bb in eight innings.
