Rouen Huskies – Paris UC 6-1, 11-0
The Rouen Huskies received two strong starts from their pitchers Keino Perez and Mike Musgrave to sweep their twin bill with Paris UC in the French Elite League on Sunday. In game one Perez allowed just one unearned run on four hits in nine innings, while striking out six. Rouen won by a score of 6-1. He won the duel against Mike Lynn, who conceded three hits, six runs (1 ER) and eight bb in eight innings. He struck out eight. In the second game the Huskies celebrated an 11-0 shutout with Musgrave missing barely out on a seven-inning perfect game, when Douglas Rodriguez singled with two outs in the seventh. He finished with twelve strikeouts in seven innings. Nicolas Dubaut took the loss. Aaron Hornostaj went 3-for-3 with walk and a two-run homerun, while being a triple shy of the cycle.
Stade Toulousain – Montpellier Barracudas 5-15 (8), 5-12
The Montpellier Barracudas didn’t stumble in Toulouse after Stade Toulousain had surprised the Rouen Huskies with a split the last time around. In game one the Barracudas sent Joris Navarro and Jordan Pennington to the mound, leading them to a 15-5 win in eight innings. In the second match it was Thomas Langloys who went the distance, while getting nearly as much run support as Navarro and Pennington in the first part of the doubleheader. Montpellier won by a final score of 12-5.
Montigny Cougars – Savigny Lions 3-17, 13-23
The Savigny Lions pounded Montigny Cougars pitching with 40 runs in the doubleheader, wining 17-3 and 23-13. Montigny had 2-0 leads in both contests according to Bafinfos.com and was able to cut the deficit to 11-12 at one time in the second game, but had to settle for two losses in the end. Kyle Nash, Tim Stewart, Eloi Secleppe, Tomas Salado and Pierrick Lemestre took the mound for Savigny. Justin Fry suffered the loss in game one, pitching for the Cougars.
