Danesi Nettuno scored four runs in the third and overcame 13 strikeouts by Dushan Ruzic (L) to beat Telemarket Rimini 5-3 on Friday evening in the Italian Baseball League. Ennio Retrosi drove in two runs for Nettuno, Max De Biase two for Rimini. Kris Wilson (W) got the win, after allowing seven hits and three runs in 6 1/3 innings. Ruzic issued eight hits, four runs and a walk in 7 1/3 frames.

Cariparma Parma crushed T&A San Marino 13-1 to lead 2-0 in the series. They scored five runs in the fifth and six in the sixth to blow the game wide open. Rodney Medina and Alex Sambucci combined for six hits, a homerun, three doubles, five runs and eight RBI. Mihai Burlea (W) allowed six hits, a run and a walk in six innings. Ivan Granados (L) conceded seven hits, seven runs and a bb in 1 2/3 innings.

Unipol Bologna edged down Montepaschi Grosseto 6-5, winning when Joe Mazzuca scored on a wild pitch with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. One inning earlier a bases loaded walk by Livinston Santaniello had tied the game. Leonardo Mazzanti hit a homerun for Grosseto, Julio Ramirez for Bologna. Victor Moreno (W) got the win in relief. Marcos Carvajal (L) took the loss.
