Defending champion DOOR Neptunus started with a 2-0 shutout into the new season in the Hoofdklasse. Diegomar Markwell (W 1-0), Berry van Driel and Arshwin Asjes combined to hold L&D Amsterdam to three hits in a rematch of last year’s Holland Series. A RBI single by Jeffrey Arends in the first and a RBI double by Benjamin Dille in the eighth sealed the victory. Rob Cordemans (L 0-1) struck out ten in six innings, but still was charged with the loss allowing three hits, a run and a walk. Both teams will play two more games this weekend.
