KINHEIM was back in victory lane on the weekend, sweeping the three-game series against RCH. The three-game set started with a gem by David Bergman, who led CORENDON to a 5-0 shutout, being perfect in nine innings besides an eighth-inning single by Fred van Stekelenburg. He struck out seven in the one-hitter. Another close game followed on Sunday with Kinheim prevailing 3-1 thanks to late runs in the seventh and ninth. Rafael Jozefa hit a solo homerun. On Monday they closed out the sweep with an 11-1 blowout. Bryan Engelhardt led the offense going three-for-four with a homerun, a double, three runs scored and five RBI. Jason Halman also crossed the plate three times.

L&D Amsterdam Pirates – Sparta/Feyenoord Rotterdam 0-1, 2-1, 4-3 (11)

The people in attendance of the PIRATES-SPARTA/FEYENOORD series saw three close games, which all were decided by a single run. On Saturday ROTTERDAM prevailed 1-0 thanks to a walk off RBI single by Nick Eppinga in the ninth. Before the outcome was decided in the final frame, Rob Cordemans (NED) and Adam Blackley (AMS) were locked into a pitcher’s duel with each going eight innings. On Sunday at home L&D had the better ending, winning 2-1 due to a RBI double by Bas de Jong and a sac fly by Bjoern Henrichs in the fifth. Rotterdam led since a RBI single by Imco Rudolph. Jos de Jong pitched eight solid innings for the win. On Monday they even needed extra innings to prevail 4-3. SPARTA/FEYENOORD reliever Roy Beems loaded the bases on a double, a walk and a hit by pitch with two outs in the eleventh. He then also hit Sidney de Jong, forcing in Wesley Connor.

DOOR Neptunus – Mr. Cocker HCAW 6-0, 13-0 (7), 10-4
