Lorenzo Avagnina hit a RBI single and later scored on a RBI double by Francesco Imperiali in the ninth inning to lift T&A San Marino to a 3-1 victory over Telemarket Rimini on Saturday night. Wuilliuans Vasquez (1-1, 3 bb, 2 runs) had tied the contest for the Titans with a homerun in the seventh. Rimini was up 1-0 since the opening frame thanks to a sac fly by Josh Phelps. Tiago Da Silva (SMA) issued three hits, a run and two walks in seven innings. Sandy Patrone (RIM) gave up three hits and two walks in five scoreless innings. Luca Martignoni (W) received the win in relief, Chris Di Roma (L) the loss.
Unipol Bologna – Danesi Nettuno 5-3, 7-1

After losing the opener of the series on Friday, Unipol Bologna came back on Saturday to win both ends of a doubleheader. In game one they scored five runs in the first three innings en route to a 5-3 victory. Massimiliano Sartori scored twice. Juan Carlos Infante walked three times. Juan Camilo went deep for Nettuno. Enzo Sanna had two RBI. Cody Cillo (W) gave up six hits, three runs and three walks in eight innings. Jose Escalona (L) was charged with five hits, five runs (1 ER) and three bb in three innings.

In game two in the evening Fortitudo scored four runs in the eighth to blow a close game wide open, winning 7-1. Juan Carlos Infante again was three times on base, going 3-for-4 with two runs and three RBI. Juan Pablo Angrisano drove in two. Fabio Betto (W) conceded six hits, a run and a walk in 6 2/3 innings. Carlos Richetti (L) surrendered ten hits, six runs (3 ER) and two bb in 7 2/3 innings.
Cariparma Parma – Novara United 3-0, 20-1 (7)

Cariparma Parma completed a sweep over Novara United on Saturday. In game one the reigning champion had just four hits and got out-hit 4-7, but still managed to win 3-0. A RBI groundout by Riccardo Bertagnon put Parma ahead in the second. Two more runs crossed the plate in the seventh on RBI singles by Stefano De Simoni and Marco Yepez. Marco Grifantini (W) struck out seven in six scoreless three-hit, one-walk innings. Alejandro Morese (L) issued three hits, three runs and six bb in 6 1/3 innings.

The second contest turned out to be a lopsided 20-1 affair. Orlando Munoz and Riccardo Bertagnon each collected three hits and five RBI. Luca Scalera hit a homerun. Bertagnon and Davide Dallospedale scored thrice. Roberto Corradini (W) allowed three hits, a run and a walk in five innings. Antonio Noguera (L) was charged with eight hits, eight runs and two bb in 2 1/3 innings.
Montepaschi Grosseto – North East Knights 8-6, 5-2

Montepaschi Grosseto also won games two and three of the series against the North East Knights. In game one the Orioles used three-run rallies in the third and the sixth to turn a 0-4 deficit into a 6-4 lead on their way to an 8-6 victory. Manuel Gasparri led the way, going 4-for-4 with two runs and three RBI. Luca Bischeri scored twice. Terrence McClain went deep for Godo-Verona. Chris Cooper (GRO) gave up four runs on nine hits and a walk in just 3 1/3 innings. Yovany D’Amico (W) issued just a hit and a pair of walks in 4 2/3 impressive innings of scoreless relief. Edgar Arismendi (L) took the loss after 5 1/3 innings, seven hits, five runs and four bb.

In the second match Riccardo De Santis (W) pitched a gem to lead Grosseto to 5-2 win. Besides a pair of hit batters in the second and a leadoff walk in the fifth he was perfect through the first eight innings. Only in the ninth the Knights managed to rally off him and ended his no-hit and later the shutout bid. Overall De Santis gave up just two hits, two runs and three bb in 8 1/3 innings. Junior Oberto got the last two outs. Luca Bischeri went 3-for-5 with two RBI. Stefano Naldoni put the Knights on the board with a two-run double in the ninth. Matteo Galeotti (L) surrendered seven hits, four runs (3 ER) and four bb in four innings.
