A pair of make-up games was scheduled in the Italian Baseball League on Tuesday. Unipol Bologna crushed the De Angelis Godo Knights 12-0 in seven innings. Seven runs in the third frame blew the game wide open. Juan Carlos Infante and Gabriele Ermini combined for six hits, four runs and five RBI at the top of the batting order. Andrea D’Amico scored three times. Cody Cillo and three relievers issued just two hits in the game. Michele Coppi took the loss.
Novara United – Danesi Nettuno 3-5
Danesi Nettuno blew an early 3-0 lead, but scored single runs in the seventh and ninth to prevail 5-3 against Novara United. An error broke the 3-3 tie in the seventh. Paolino Ambrosino’s RBI double in the ninth added an insurance run. A double play groundball had tied the contest for Novara in the sixth. Carlos Richetti received the win in relief of Milvio Andreozzi. Enrico Ciuffetelli was charged with the loss. Pedro Orta had impressed in his start for United, allowing just seven hits, three runs (2 ER) and a walk in six innings.
