NAVARRA stunned the FC BARCELONA with two victories last weekend in the Spanish Division de Honor, probably ending all championships dreams for the Catalonian team. In game one a three-run rally in the fifth helped them en route to a 5-1 win. Juan Jose Lopez (W 3-7) allowed just one run on seven hits and two walks in eight innings. He also drove in two. Homer Baez (L 11-3) gave up eight hits, five runs (2 ER) and three bb in eight innings.

In the second match NAVARRA simply out-slugged BARCELONA scoring eight runs on 16 hits in an 8-5 win. Larry Infante led the way with four hits, including two homeruns and a double, scoring three times and driving in three. Diego Armando Perez (W 2-4) picked up the win in relief. Pedro Belmonte (L 12-1) lost for the first time this season, conceding 16 hits, eight runs and a walk in eight innings.

The MARLINS profited from the two losses by BARCELONA and extended its lead in the standing to four games, thanks to two lopsided victories in VALENCIA. In game one Luis Perez went four-for-five with a homerun, two doubles, two runs scored and four RBI to lead TENERIFE to a 14-0 shutout. Juan Salazar collected four hits and three RBI. Leslie Nacar (W 13-1) pitched five no-hit innings, giving up just one walk. Audie Nunez took over and allowed the lone ASTROS hit in the sixth. Edward Adames (L 0-5) took the loss after issuing five runs on seven hits and a walk in three innings.

In the second match they even topped their run total from the first one. They scored in each of the six innings en route to an 18-0 win. Daniel Martinez homered and drove in two. Richard Montiel crossed the plate four times. Ivan Granados (W 11-1) struck out seven in five scoreless five-hit innings. Jose Martin (L 0-3) suffered the loss after seven hits, seven runs (6 ER) and two bb in three innings.
Halcones de Vigo – El Llano 3-6, 8-11

EL LLANO overcame a 1-3 deficit to win 6-3 against HALCONES in game one of a two-game series. M Trillo went two-for-four with two RBI. J Morales scored twice after getting a hit in three of his five at bats. Juan De Leon (W 3-5) allowed seven hits, three runs (2 ER) and a walk in a complete game win. Roman Carrasco (L 1-2) was charged with ten hits, six runs and six bb in eight innings for the loss.

In the second match Roberto Noriega went four-for-five with six RBI to lead the team from Gijon to an 11-8 win and the sweep in the twin bill. P Mendez reached base six times and scored four runs. M San Gil had three hits and four RBI for VIGO. Elbis Alberto Avila (W 2-2) got the win in relief. Jose Antonio Romero (L 1-3) took the loss after allowing three hits, four runs (3 ER) and five bb in 2 2/3 innings.

William Domero, Juan Cruz and Yaeko Vazquez collected each two RBI in an 8-1 win by SANT BOI in game one of their weekend series against SAN INAZIO. Oscar Alvarez (W 11-3) dominated on the mound, allowing just two hits, one unearned runs and two bb in a complete game win. Fidel Mane (L 6-5) gave up eight hits, five runs (4 ER) and a walk in six innings.

In the second match BILBAO had the better start, taking a fast 3-0 lead. However it was the last time they would score. SANT BOI tied the contest in the second frame and decided the outcome with a five-run rally between the fifth and sixth innings. F Tua drove in two for the Basque team. Milko Jaramillo went three-for-five with three RBI for CB. Yaeko Vazquez (W 3-0) went the distance, allowing just three hits, three runs (2 ER) and three bb. Alberto Magallon (L 5-6) gave up eight runs (7 ER) on eleven hits in 5 1/3 innings.
CB Viladecans – CD Pamplona 2-3, 7-2

VILADECANS and PAMPLONA split a series this past weekend. In game one CD loaded the bases in the eighth and forced in the decisive runs on a hit by pitch and a passed ball for 3-2 win. Alexis Fumero (W 3-7) went the distance, allowing seven hits, two runs (1 ER) and five bb. Pol Llopis (L 2-5) conceded six hits, three runs (1 ER) and two walks in 7 1/3 innings.

VILADECANS got some payback in the second game, using a five-run fourth on their way to a 7-2 victory. Oscar Angulo drove in two. A Tenllado went three-for-four with two runs scored. Joshua Castro started the match for CB, allowing just two hits in four scoreless innings. Marc Jodar (W 3-3) replaced him and picked up the win. Eneko Del Burgo (L 0-4) surrendered nine hits, six runs and three walks in six innings.
