Recaps: Astros, Barcelona stay undefeated in Spanish Division de Honor

ONLY 2 REMAIN UNBEATEN AFTER THIRD MATCHDAY: CB BARCELONA AND ASTROS DE VALENCIA

Sant Boi won twice by KO during their visit to the Halcones de Vigo (Bembivre, 10 and 11/03/2012) during the conftrontations that started the third matchday of the Honour Division National League. On the fist match 2-14 (KO, 7in) Marc Carrillo, SS (3Ab, 1run, 3hit, 4rbi) contributed offensively so that Rubén D. Fente (2-0, 6IP, 4K’s) signed up the winning game. The losing pitcher was José R. Marte (0-2, 3IP, 3K’s). The second match, 2-12 (KO, 7in) had as its main offensive R. Noriega, 1B (4Ab, 2run, 3hit, 2rbi) who supported the work of Daniel Matias (2-1, 5IP, 5K’s), winning pitcher of the game. Guillermo Sanchez (0-1, 5IP, 2K’s) lost the match.

In Pamplona (Burlada 11/03/2012) San Inazio and Pamplona divided to take a win each. The first game went 1-2 to the visitors. On the mound combined efforts Juan J. Lopez (2-1, 6.2IP, 11K’s) and Eduardo Villacis (Sv, 2.1IP, 3K’s). The winning run scored by A. J. Maia, C (2AB, 1run). The loss went to Alexis J. Fumero (2-1, 8IP, 3K’s). The other match was won by the locals 4-3, thanks to long relief by Eneko del Burgo (2-1, 7.1, 3K’s) and the performance with the bat of J. Latienda (5AB, 1run, 2hit, 1rbi). The game was lost to reliever Edward Adames (0-1, 0.2IP, 1K).

Astros de Valencia visit to Tenerife (Puerto de la Cruz, 03.10.2012) resulted in two wins over the Marlins, 1-2 and 7-8 respectively. Trevor Caughey (3-0, 8.2IP, 9K’s) won the first game with a solid performance and the offensive support of B.S. Ochoa, C (2AB, 1run, 2hit, 1rbi – HR). For the Marlins the losing pitcher was Leslie Nacar (2-1, 9IP, 11K’s). The second match was won by Pedro P. Belmonte (3-0, 8IP, 4K’s), who had taken over in the first game (0.1in). Good perfomance with the bats of Larry Infante, SS (3Ab, 2run, 2hit, 1rbi – HR) and B.S. Ochoa, C (3Ab, 2run, 2hit, 2rbi – HR). Lowuin Sacramento (1-2, 7IP, 12K’s) charged the loss.
Béisbol Navarra and El Llano took a win each at their matches in Gijón (Gijón, 3/11/2012). The first game was for Navarran, 1-4, to win the starter pitcher Harold Y. Rumion (1-2, 7IP, 6K’s) and the offensive support of I. Alfonso, LF (4Ab, 1run, 2hit, 2rbi). Wilquin Escanio (0-3, 6IP, 1k) lossed the match. In the second game were the local the winners 6-5 thanks to the work of reliever Yasiel Pino (1-0, 4IP, 4K’s) and center field C. Quinones, CF (5AB, 2run, 4hit, 2rbi). The loser was the also reliever Yorking Cespedes (0-1, 4IP, 5K’s).

In matches between Viladecans and CB Barcelona (Barcelona, 10-11/03/2012) local Club Béisbol Barcelona prevailed in both games 2-4 and 2-3. José L. Hernandez (3-0, 8IP, 12K’s) and Óscar Jimenez (Sv, 1IP, 1K) combined with O. Angulo (4Ab, 1run, 2hit, 1rbi) to give the victory to their team. Juan C. Campos (1-2, 7IP, 9K’s) was the losing pitcher. In the second game Jorge Balboa (2-0, 7IP, 9K’s) and once again Óscar Jimenez (Sv, 2iP, 2K’s) were responsible for the victory from the mound and O. Angulo (4Ab, 2hit, 1rbi – 2B) with the bat. The loss was to reliever reliever Miguel Luengo (0-2, 2.2IP, 2K `s).

The upcoming matchday (17, 18 and 19/03/2012) presents the following series: in Sant Boi, Sant Boi vs CB Barcelona; in Bilbao, San Inazio Bizkaia vs Halcones de Vigo, in Burlada, Béisbol Navarra vs. Marlins de Tenerife; in Viladecans, Viladecans vs El Llano, and on Monday, March 19 in Burlada will face the Astros CD Pamplona and Astros de Valencia.
