RIMINI used a four-run eighth to finally pull away from NETTUNO in a 10-6 victory. They out-hit DANESI 16-6 on Friday night. Ivanon Coffie led the offense going four-for-four with a walk, three runs scored and three RBI. Mario Chiarini also scored three times. Abraham Nunez drove in two for NETTUNO. Rafael Garcia (RIM) allowed four hits, six runs and four bb in five-plus innings. Jeff Farnsworth (NET) gave up ten hits, four runs and three walks in 4 2/3 innings. Gustavo Martinez picked up the win after striking out six in four scoreless two-hit innings of relief. Remigio Leal suffered the loss.

A solo homerun by Robert De Franceschi in the bottom of the second was the lone difference between GODO and REGGIO EMILIA. Emmanuel Ulloa struck out ten in 6 2/3 innings, allowing six hits and five bb for the win. Abe Alvarez issued six hits, a run and three walks in six innings for the loss.

David Sheldon scored twice for the reigning champion. Claudio Liverziani collected two RBI for BOLOGNA. Tiago Da Silva struck out eleven in seven innings to pick up the win. He surrendered four hits, three runs (2 ER) and two bb. Yulman Ribeiro took the loss, conceding seven hits, four runs and two walks in 4 2/3 innings.

Jorge Nunez and Gabriel Ermini hit solo homeruns in the third and sixth to lead GROSSETO to a 2-1 win over PARMA on Friday evening in the Italian Baseball League. CARIPARMA only was able to plate one run in the seventh on a RBI groundout by Stefano De Simoni. Juan Figueroa allowed one run on seven hits in eight innings for the win. Ricky Palma struck out eight in 7 1/3 innings, but also was responsible for eight hits, two runs and a walk.
