Montepaschi Grosseto sent 14 batters to the plate and scored ten runs in the bottom of the fifth to defeat T&A San Marino 12-1 in seven innings on Saturday evening in the Italian Baseball League. Kelly Ramos drove in two during the rally. Anthony Coromato went 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI overall. Riccardo De Santis (W) issued just two hits, an unearned run and no walks in five strong innings for the win. Gregory Palanzo (L) surrendered five hits, six runs and two bb in four-plus innings.

Danesi Nettuno completed the sweep over the De Angelis Godo Knights with a 6-1 win. Igor Schiavetti scored twice. Mark La Macchia (W) struck out seven in six solid innings, allowing one run on six hits and three walks. Panagiotis Sikaras (L) surrendered nine hits, six runs (5 ER) and four bb in six innings.

Cariparma took a fast 5-0 lead after two innings, but still needed a RBI double by Juan Camilo in the bottom of the seventh to beat UGF Bologna 6-5 in the rubber match of the three-game series. Fortitudo had erased the deficit and tied the game on a sac fly by Juan Carlos Infante in the top of the sixth. Roberto Corradini (PAR) allowed six hits, five runs (2 ER) and three bb in six innings. Fabio Betto (BOL) conceded five runs on nine hits in 5 2/3 innings. Pedro Orta (W) picked up the win in relief. Alessandro Ularetti (L) took the loss.
Telemarket Rimini – Catania Warriors 3-5

The Catania Warriors stunned Telemarket Rimini with five late runs and avoided the sweep with a 5-3 win on Saturday. A RBI single by Perez Rosario tied the game in the top of the ninth. An error and a wild pitch plated the two game-winning runs afterwards. A RBI double by Clinton Balgera in the bottom of the eighth had put the Pirates back on top after the Warriors had tied the in the seventh. Sandy Patrone (RIM) allowed just six hits and a walk in six scoreless innings, striking out eight. Orlando Yntema (PAT) gave up five hits, a run and two bb in five frames. Leonardo D’Amico (W) received the win, Luca Lomonte (L) the loss.
