Poland has won the Qualifier U15 European Championship in Huenenberg, Switzerland and qualifies for the U15 European Championship in 2017. They defeated Great Britain 6-5 in the final on Saturday afternoon.
Poland used a pair of three-run innings to decide the outcome. Great Britain had erased an early 0-3 deficit and took a 5-3 lead in the top of the sixth. But Poland answered right away, came back and secured the win.
Pawel Hutny drove in three runs for Poland. Patryk Zajac had two hits, a run and a RBI. Jamie Warren, doubled, scored twice and drove in two for Great Britain. Kacper Blacha conceded two unearned runs on three hits in 2 2/3 innings of relief for the win. Myles Janson got charged with the loss.
Switzerland finished in third place ahead of Slovakia and Belarus.
