2011 Season: After getting traded by the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Kansas City Royals Italian pitcher Andrea Pizziconi spent the 2011 season with the Burlington Royals in the Appalachian League. He went 1-2 with an ERA of 6.81 in 16 games (2 starts). He struck out 22 batters in 39 2/3 innings, walking 21. Unfortunately his career in professional baseball ended for now in the fall, as the Royals released him.
