The German Baseball and Softball Federation (DBV) in cooperation with the International Sports Group (ISG) has released the program for the baseball clinic at the DBV/ISG Convention 2014 from January 24 to 26 at the Ahorn Sportpark in Paderborn, Germany. The clinic starts in difference to the softball clinic and umpire and scorer courses already on Friday evening at 7.30pm and ends on Sunday at noon.
Speakers include German coaches Alper Bozkurt, Martin Brunner, Georg Bull and Mirko Heid, Triple-A catcher Kai Gronauer of the New York Mets, former Major League catcher and current advanced scout Adam Melhuse (Chicago Cubs), Minor League pitching instructor David Turgeon (Pittsburgh Pirates) and ISG Baseball team leader Pat Doyle (former College coach, MLB Envoy Program coordinator).
Topics range from pitching, catching, hitting, offseason programs and throwing over leadership strategies and “The Talent Code” to German Baseball history. Additionally the relationship between managers, coaches, players and umpires will be on focus, as MLB Umpire Supervisor Larry Young will be on hand to speak about this delicate topic.
