Previewing 2016 in Spanish Division de Honor with Jorge Miqueleiz (CB Barcelona)

The Spanish Division de Honor played its second game day of the year this past weekend. Previewing the 2016 season Mister-Baseball.com talked to CB Barcelona’s technical director Jorge Miqueleiz.

Mister-Baseball.com: The Spanish Division de Honor has started. What are your expectations in general and individual?

Jorge Miqueleiz: Our team expectations are to follow improving our baseball through young players from our program and fighting for the League and Copa del Rey. We are going to battle every serie.

Mister-Baseball.com: Which new import players will make an impact in the league?

Jorge Miqueleiz: We don’t have a lot of information about new players but obvisuly Marlins Yorfrank Lopez, Greylor Conde and Jesus Ustariz, Astros Edward Kellen, Rómulo Sánchez and Guillermo Sandrea or Barcelona’s Elian Leyva will be names to follow during the season.

Mister-Baseball.com: Which young players could celebrate a breakout year in Spain this summer?

Jorge Miqueleiz: Barcelona’s Tony Sarduy and Roibert Decena, Astros Luis Rodriguez, Sant Boi’s Eric Izquierdo or Marlins Giovanni Binetti could take inportant rol in their teams.

Mister-Baseball.com: Which teams are favored and will win the championship in the Division of Honor?

Jorge Miqueleiz: The current champion Marlins and the reforced Astros will be the two teams to beat . Also Sant Boi will be one of the tops like the last years.
