With two games of the Swedish Baseball Academy against Alby and Stockholm the 2011 season starts in the Swedish Elitserien today and tomorrow. Defending champion Karlskoga Bats enters the competition on Saturday. The Academy takes the spot in the league of Tranås, which withdrew due to player shortage this winter. The format stays the same, as the first six teams after the first part of the regular season move up, while the seventh has to defend its spot in the Elitserien against second-division teams.
