Preview: Sant Boi hosts Navarra in Division de Honor

Posted on March 4, 2011March 4, 2011 by philipp

While most of European Baseball is just about to kick off its preseason schedule, the Spanish Division de Honor already will hold its second game day of the year. Last week the Astros Valencia and the FC Barcelona split and defending champion CB Sant Boi, the Tenerife Marlins and San Inazio Bilbao picked up sweeps to start the season.

In week two reigning title holders CB Sant Boi is at home hosting Baseball Navarra in the top duel on Saturday and Sunday. CB had not much trouble to get two wins on the road against the Sevilla Red Sox, while Navarra had to settle for a split at home versus the surprisingly strong Halcones de Vigo. Last year Sant Boi won three of the four games against the team from Pamplona. The loss was one of just three overall.

Meanwhile the FC Barcelona hosts CB Viladecans in a Catalonian derby, the Tenerife Marlins Puerto Cruz take on the Sevilla Red Sox, Halcones de Vigo hopes for another strong showing against the undefeated San Inazio Bilbao and CD Pamplona plays against the Astros Valencia. You can follow the Barcelona-Viladecans matchup via live play by play on the competition website of the Spanish Baseball and Softball Federation.
