Preview: Friday Night Baseball in Southern Division of Bundesliga

Posted on June 22, 2012 by philipp

While night baseball is a regular feature in several baseball countries in Europe, it is still something special in the German Baseball-Bundesliga.

This Friday the southern division will have three games, which are played under the lights. The Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg will host the Haar Disciples at 7pm. Also the Heidenheim Heidekoepfe will play against the Stuttgart Reds at this time. At 7.30pm the Mannheim Tornados square off with the Mainz Athletics. Haar, Mainz and Mannheim battle for two remaining playoffs spots in the south, as we enter the last two weeks of the regular season.

In the north there will be four doubleheaders on Saturday. The Dortmund Wanderers and Solingen Alligators also will play one of the two games under the lights. The Berlin Sluggers against the Cologne Cardinals, the Dohren Wild Farmers against the HSV Stealers and the Untouchables Paderborn against the Bonn Capitals will start at the usual 1pm slot.
