Preview: Draci Brno awaits Tempo Titans Prague as Czech Extraleague starts

Posted on April 12, 2013April 12, 2013 by philipp

With one week delay due to the chilly weather in Europe the 2013 season in the Czech Extraleague also is getting underway. Reigning champion Draci Brno hosts the promoted and returning Tempo Titans Prague on game day number one (actually two, but it’s the first).

Draci no longer has Pavel Budsky (retired) or Tom Brice in the lineup, but will have a strong team, led by starting pitchers Petr Minarik and Michal Subotka, as well as the middle infield duo of Martin Schneider and Jakub Hajtmar.

The Tempo Titans meanwhile return to the Extraleague for the first time since 2009. They have a new head coach with Robert Fritz and additional foreign reinforcement with Jeff Guthridge. Ivan Hamza (from Trebic) and Tomas Sykora (from Eagles Prague) are other notable new acquisitions.

In the other matchups the Eagles Prague host Technika Brno, Skokani Olomouc faces Justin Prinstein’s Hrosi Brno and Kotlarka Prague takes on the Arrows Ostrava, which have Petr Cech behind the plate.

Schedule:

13:00 Eagles Prague – Technika Brno (DH)
