Prague Baseball Week Recap Day one

Day one of the Prague Baseball Week started right before lunch on Tuesday with a game between Czech U21 team and AIST (USA). The young Czech team started without respect against the collegiate select and scored two times in the first inning. After the half of the game the score was 6-0 for the Czech prospects. AIST scored in the sixth and seventh inning for a little bit surprise final score 6-2 for Czech U21 team.

The second game in central field also brought unexpected score. Croatia defeated France 9-7, when Croatia scored in the eighth inning six runs and stole the safe France win.

The first game in central field was played between USA Athletes and Slovakia. The US Athletes had no problems and shut out Slovakia 6-0.

The evening game at central field brought the first presentation of the Czech national team ahead of their home visitors. The start for the Czech national team was excellent. They needed only 7 innings to crush Sweden 13-3 (mercy rule applied).

Group A is led by the Czech duo followed by AIST and Sweden. Tomorrow’s games in group A can already bring the semifinalists. Group B is led by USA Athletes and Croatia. And if Croatia will win against Slovakia, they can start looking forward to their semifinal opponent.
