The postseason in Major League Baseball will start tonight, when three of the four League Division Series kick off their schedule. On Tuesday evening at the Metrodome in Minneapolis the Minnesota Twins defeated the Detroit Tigers in a one-day playoff 6-5 thanks to a walk-off RBI single by Alexis Casilla in the bottom of the twelfth inning and qualified as the eighth team for October baseball.
They will play against the New York Yankees in round one of the playoffs. The second ALDS will be between the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the Boston Red Sox. In the National League defending World Series champion Philadelphia Phillies will take on the Colorado Rockies, while the Los Angeles Dodgers face the St. Louis Cardinals. Besides the Rockies, each of the other seven teams remaining already has won a championship in their respective history.
All Division Series games plus the National League Championship Series will be on TBS, while the American League Championship Series and the World Series will be broadcasted by FOX. In Europe ESPN America will show most of the postseason games live. Check your local listings for the correct times. And obviously MLB.tv will bring us all the action to Europe.
Red Sox gonna take this one!
