The Portuguese Circuito Nacional de Baseball (CNB) is scheduled to begin play on Sunday, Apr 3, with 10 teams, divided into two regional groups, competing for the country’s championship.
The Piratas de Ria enter the season as the defending champion, having defeated the Loulé Ravens in the deciding game of last year’s, best-of-three, championship series.
The 2022 schedule has the 10 clubs completing over 10 weeks of play, with the regular season wrapping up on Jul 31.
The top two teams in each regional group qualify for the semi-finals, scheduled for Sep 17/18, with the winners meeting on the first weekend in October to determine the Portuguese championship.
