Port of Antwerp Greys battle with Hoboken Pioneers on Thursday

Posted on May 20, 2009 by philipp

Although the NAMUR ANGELS are in first place, the HOBOKEN PIONEERS and the PORT OF ANTWERP GREYS are probably still the top favorites to win the Belgian Baseball championship this year. On Thursday these two clubs will square off for the third time this year. Each team won one game in the season series so far and the third should also be a nail biter. Game four will be played on June 1st.

On Saturday and Sunday, the GREYS will face the BRUSSELS KANGAROOS and the PIONEERS will battle with the MORTSEL STARS. The ANGELS meanwhile try to defend their 9-1 record against the BORGERHOUT SQUIRRELS and the MERCHTEM CATS. The first showdown with current second-ranked HOBOKEN is scheduled for June 6 and 7. Until then they should be safe.
