After an interesting regular season the playoffs in the Czech Extraliga start today with the series between the ARROWS OSTRAVA and TECHNIKA BRNO. The other semi-final of 2007 champion DRACI BRNO against MZLU EXPRESS begins on September 20th due to the European Cup playoff participation of DRACI this week.
DRACI and TECHNIKA were one and two in the batting average ranking during the preliminary round, batting .305, and respective .295 as a team. The ARROWS (.293) and MZLU (.282) also were more than 20 points ahead of the rest of the league. There are more differences in the pitching department. DRACI led the league with a team-ERA of 1.73. OSTRAVA (2.70) and TECHNIKA (3.15) followed the leader. However MZLU only had the seventh-best ERA in the Extraliga with 5.23.
