The Montpellier Barracudas (13-11) scored six runs in the ninth inning to stun the Rouen Huskies (20-4) in Game 1 of French Baseball League semi-final playoff action.
The Huskies raced out to an early lead as Kenji HAGIWARA led off with a triple and scored on a RBI single by Danny SCALABRINI. The duo helped increase the lead to 4-0 a few innings later and Rouen was cruising with a 6-1 lead before disaster struck.
Geoffrey MOSCHETTI capped the Barracudas improbable comeback win with a two-run single and Laurent ANDRADES picked up the victory.
Rouen 7, Montpellier 4
Nicolas DUBAUT struck out eight hitters in a complete game win as Rouen evened the series with the Barracudas. David CANALE had a homer and three RBI’s while Kenji HAGIWARA turned in another stellar performance. The Japan native went 6-for-8 in the first two games of the playoffs with a double, triple and six runs scored.

Senart scored three times in the ninth inning to shock Savigny/Orge in Game 1 of their semi-final playoff matchup in the French Baseball League. Samuel MEURANT outpitched Pierrick LEMESTRE to earn the win.
Senart 4, Savigny/Orge 3
Senart scored once in the eight inning to tie the game and then claimed the win in the 10th inning as Sylvain HERVIEUX executed a perfect squeeze-play to dash the hopes of Savigny/Orge.
British playmakers Michael HUNT and Ian YOUNG pace Senart which leads the series 2-0 while Sebastian BOYER and Vincent FERREIRA lead a determined Savigny/Orge squad.
