CB Viladecans:
The Catalonian Division de Honor club found a replacement for Yulman Ribeiro (4-6, ERA 1.99), who left the team for FORTITUDO BOLOGNA of the Italian Baseball League. The Venezuelan right-handed pitcher Delio Martinez reinforces a pitching staff of VILADECANS, which had a team ERA of 2.84 in 2008.

Baseball Navarra:
They were in talks to bring in infielder Randy Perez, who had left the French champion HUSKIES ROUEN early this winter, but now decided to sign Carlos Pinto to take over as new shortstop. He replaces Javier Zabalza (.250/.365/.317). Hector Perozo (.274/.432/.521) will remain with NAVARRA. He sat behind the plate last weekend in an exhibition game against PAMPLONA.

CD Pamplona:
Last year’s eighth-place finisher in Spain extended the contract for pitchers Alexis Fumero and Patrice Briones. Fumero had a 1-10 record with an ERA of 6.37 and 54 strikeouts in 76 1/3 innings, walking 48. Briones, a member of the French national team, had a 1-4 record with an ERA of 2.84 and 33 K’s in 50 2/3 innings (14 walks).
