Rogier van Zon reports on Honkbalsite.com that Paul Nanne replaces Richard Orman as pitching coach of the KONICA MINOLTA PIONIERS. The 41-year-old former right-handed pitcher/first baseman hung up his cleats in 2000. During his active career Nanne played for AMSTERDAM and the Haarlem based clubs KINHEIM, NICOLS and DSS. He also appeared in 32 games for the Dutch National Team and played in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
Nanne coached with the AMSTERDAM PIRATES after finishing his career and led the coaching staff of the PIONIERS II later on. He also was appointed to be head coach of a junior team from the Baseball Academy Kennemerland earlier this year. The club from Hoofddorp is playing in a preseason tournament in Nijmegen this weekend. They open the new Hoofdklasse season on April 11th against SPARTA/FEYENOORD.
