The 2021 CEB Champions Cup winners Parma Baseball Club have signed former MLB pitcher Carlos Contreras, the Italian club has announced.
The 31-year-old Contreras pitched in parts of two seasons for the Cincinnati Reds in 2014 and 2015, recording a 5.51 ERA in 47.1 innings of work.
Since his time in Cincinnati, the Dominican righty has pitched in the Mexican League (2017) and the independent American Association (2017-19), where he put together an impressive 2.80 ERA in 74 innings, with the vast majority of his work coming out of the bullpen.
Parma, Europe’s most successful baseball club with 14 European titles to its name, starts the 2022 season on Apr 2.
