Panama stops team Italy with 6-0 shutout

Posted on November 10, 2007 by philipp

Rafael MEDINA and Sherman OBANDO stopped the Italian team on Saturday. It is the first loss for them. Panama (3-1) was victorious by a score of 6-0.

The third batter of the game, OBANDO, wasted no time to crush a 0-2 pitch over the wall for a three-run-homerun. Panama added three more runs in the sixth to seal the win.

Concepcion RODRIGUEZ, Audes DE LEON, OBANDO, Earl AGNOLY, Johnny LAZO and Joel VEGA had two hits each.

Max DI BIASE had two hits for the squadra azzura.

MEDINA (W 1-0), a former major leaguer, pitched six strong innings. He gave up only three hits and struck out two.

Sandy PATRONE (L 0-1) did not found his rhythm. He allowed six hits, three runs and one walk in 2 1/3 innings. He struck out three. Mattia SALSI, Chris DI ROMA, Anthony FERRARI, Luca PANERATI and Leonardo ZILERI appeared also in the game.
