Four German Baseball-Bundesliga teams used the free weekend to play at the Armin Wolf Arena in Regensburg for the trophy and a prize money of €1,500 at the first edition of the Buchbinder Cup. The Paderborn Untouchables won all three games against host Buchbinder Legionaere, reigning German champion Heidenheim Heidekoepfe and the HSV Stealers to pick up the title. The tournament was highlighted by Sunday’s matchup between Paderborn and Regensburg, where Daniel Meier hit two homeruns during a nine-run rally in the seventh, which turned a 2-5-deficit into an 11-5 win for the U’s.
