Paderborn, Germany made history on Saturday as they became the first-ever European team to win a game in the Palomino World Series. They defeated Kankakee, Illinois 13-3 in the consolation bracket of the Palomino World Series.

The first run for Germany came off of a groundout by Simon Bäumer. Ian Eberhardt, Mathis Vockel, Jann Kirchoff and Merlin Bendlin all added RBIs in the first inning. Germany put up eight total in the first inning, establishing a strong lead that they never lost.

Baumer also started on the day, on the hill and had an impressive day there as well. He finished after two and a third innings pitched, having five strikeouts in that time frame. He also gave up two runs on two hits and four walks.

Germany moves on to face-off against Harlingen, Texas who lost to Chinese-Taipei 4-2 earlier today. As for Kankakee, Illinois they will have one more game in the 2019 Palomino World Series as they will face-off against the loser Laredo Marucci and Mazatlan, Mexico.
