Former Spanish national team player and current national team coach Paco Figueroa was appointed as new outfield and base running coach for the Philadelphia Phillies. He is coming from the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he worked as minor league hitting coordinator. With Spain he played in the 2009 Baseball World Cup and the 2013 World Baseball Classic. In 2016 he was a coach during the World Baseball Classic Qualifier in Panama. Later that year he managed Spain at the European Championship.
