The Oslo Rangers and Kristiansand Suns punched their tickets to the finals of the 2016 Norwegian Baseball League finals in the countries’ top division this past weekend.

The defending NBL Champion Rangers breezed through the 4 team double elimination semi-final hosted in Oslo this past weekend by first defeating the Suns 10-5 and then secured their spot in the finals with an 11-5 victory over the regular season leader Alna Baseball Klubb. Alna entered the game fresh off their first round win over Trondheim Knickers 12-7.

The Suns who are making their first appearance in the finals took the hard road coming through the losers bracket after their opening game loss to the Rangers. The Suns then eliminated a feisty but depleted Trondheim team in game 2 by a score of 11-9. They then secured their spot in the finals with a 5-3 victory over Alna in the tournament’s final game.

The NBL finals will take place in Oslo on September 24-25 in a best of 3 contest. First pitch Saturday will be at 13:00 with the 2nd game following 30 mins after the first. If necessary the deciding 3rd game will start at 13:00.
