The Italian Baseball League club Cariparma Parma has a new manager. The Venezuelan Orlando Munoz – in Parma since the 2007 season – is taking over at the helm for Gilberto Gerali. It is no big surprise, as the former standout player was groomed into this position this year as hitting coach. He had retired from his active career following the 2011 season. Gerali will stay within the organization replacing Massimo Fochi as General Manager. According to the report by Baseball.it Fochi also will remain with Parma, but in a lesser role since he also is occupied as vice president of the Italian Baseball and Softball Federation.
